The PLF Recipe Blog Help Pages

Understanding Our Wordpress Blog

Introduction to the Prairieland Food Blog

Understanding how a Wordpress blog is organized will help everyone find what they are looking for much easier. With this is mind, the basic navigation will be explained and shown in a manner consistent with the Spectrum template layout of the new PLF blog.

Send any questions you have to buddyservices [at-sign] gmail.com.
Thank You.

Pages

The pages are listed at the top of the template we've chosen in gray slightly transparent boxes. These are actually "static" pages. They only update when we manually go in there and make changes. Otherwise, they stay the same and don't have other pages under them in a hierachy type architecture.

Let's liken our simple navigational instruction here to the evening meal. Lots of courses, all good, and flavors that enhance each other.

Categories

On to the main dish - the meat of our meal is the "Category" section of the blog. This is where the real organization comes into play. Here, we can have our recipes organized in any fashion we please. But since all other blogs and websites group their recipes by the type of recipe, we group ours by where they came from within the volunteer organization.
Categories are down the right side along with other places; like "most recent posts" "Blogroll" "Twitter Feed" and more.

Cooking Food At Home - This is the place where article posts of interest appear that have to do with food in general.
You know what this is, eh? The PLF monthly discount food packages contents.
Recipes, recipes and more recipes. ALL recipes shall be listed in this category. It will be a very long list too.
Recipes by location. In addition to the long recipes list, this area will break down our recipes to the geological location of where they came from.
All the most recent entries will be listed here. If a recipe is the most recent, this is another place a recipe will appear, albeit for a short time.

More Stuff

Scroll down that right side menu and you'll find a lot more stuff. Like, who has made the most recent comments on blog entries and so on.

Just scroll down and get familiar with all the "stuff."
